Start with the work
Look at how value reaches customers, where work gets stuck, and which tasks need human judgment. That gives us a basis for deciding where AI helps and what needs to change around it.
Sympoiesia
How do we organize work so that people and AI can create value together, while people keep learning, exercising judgment, and taking responsibility? This is the question behind Sympoiesia.
Poiesis means bringing something into being. Sym points to doing it together. A sympoietic organization keeps creating: products, services, ways of working, and the capabilities to pursue what comes next. Sympoiesia is my framework for exploring how to build and grow one.

Examine who can decide, what support they need, and what must remain under human oversight. The structure can include hierarchy, self-organization, or both, depending on the work, the people, and the constraints.
People need room to reflect, ask for help, try things, and grow into responsibility. Teams and organizations need ways to learn from what actually happens, including mistakes and results that challenge their assumptions.
Understand the situation, choose a bounded experiment, and agree what would count as progress or a reason to stop. Test before expanding. The organization should learn from the experiment, including whether the proposed approach fits at all.
Sympoiesia brings together my experience in innovation, leadership, and organizational development with work by others. I have not yet applied the combined framework with clients. The white paper sets out its assumptions, possible routes, and signs that an approach is not working. It is an invitation to examine and test these ideas.
